Trapped Nerve Update

So the trapped nerve update: it has resolved itself very well and very quickly. I have been rather cautious with the training nonetheless. But things seem fine, and training is starting to build back up again. I have not done any Viking Press since the trapped nerve occurred. I will do at some point very soon, but I will continue to be rather cautious with the Viking Press for a good while yet.

Trapped Nerve Update – Training Diary Notes:
As always, all training (with the exception of running sessions) is performed at The EGG (Egerton’s Garage Gym, York).
• My Strength hasn’t been impacted negatively by the trapped nerve.
• I have of course, lost a bit of progress as a result of being very cautious with my training since the trapped nerve. However, I am in a good place to begin picking things back up again now.
• The Deadlift progressions continue to go pretty much to plan (I had planned for six sets, rather than four sets in the Deadlift session. However, the reason for stopping after four sets was not due to a lack of strength. I felt strong enough to complete the session, but unfortunately I tore a callus on my hand during the fourth set. As a result of this I thought it was wise to stop at this point. I am sure I could have managed to struggle on. But, firstly, it would have been very unpleasant, and secondly, it would mean I have to wait longer before I am able to Deadlift again (since it would have undoubtedly resulted in ripping open the skin more and more with each rep).
• Running duration and consistency has improved, which is a definite positive to come out of this block of training
