Yesterday I talked about my plans to run “Train Like An Athlete” 12 Week Training Camps in York.
You can check out my Train Like An Athlete in York post here.
But for today I want to take a closer look at why you would want to train like an athlete and what that would entail.
First off… Why train like an athlete?
Well… Olympic Athletes can come in all shapes and sizes, of course. But for the most part Olympic Athletes have fantastically toned, muscular and lean physiques. Simply put, they LOOK POWERFUL. And the reason they look powerful is because they are powerful.
So the take home point here is… train for performance and the look will follow.

How to Train Like an Athlete in York
That brings us nicely onto the next point…
What is involved in training like an athlete?
Well, athletes are concerned about performance! Being stronger, more powerful and faster for longer. In order to improve those qualities you need to intelligently apply the principle of progressive overload to a programme that includes sprint work, weight training and conditioning work.
And guess what?
In order to allow for greater Strength, Power, Speed and Stamina… your body will respond to this kind of training by adding slabs of muscle to your frame and shredding away fat.
Ever seen an Olympic 100m finalist that was anything other than muscular and RIPPED?
Me neither!
So essentially that’s what we are going for here – 12 weeks of training your body to perform at its best so that it looks AND feels incredible.
Want in?
Want to take the guess work out of progressing your training in a safe and effective manner over 12 week period?
Ready finish the programme with best looking body that you have ever had?
Ready to feel and perform as good as you look?
